
Bridge to Healthcare Program
The Bridge to Healthcare Program provides opportunity for Internationally trained Healthcare Professionals (IEHPs) to apply their knowledge and transferable skills to achieve various non-licensed employment opportunities in the Canadian healthcare system.
Through individualized job search support and supportive group learning environments, participants will acquire knowledge of sector-specific language, tips on seeking employment, and will be able to practice applying their skills to a wide array of non-licensed healthcare careers. Participants will receive job search assistance in healthcare, employment retention and career mobility support for up to 1 year after program completion.
Program components:
- Information related to regulatory and non-regulatory healthcare pathways in Canada
- 25 hours of in-class training followed by 20 hours of volunteer placement in the healthcare field
- Individualized job search assistance and support, job retention strategies, workplace communication, capacity building to work in the Canadian healthcare system
- Networking opportunities with working professionals in Canadian health sector
