Youth Job Connection (YJC): The Youth Job Connection program is designed for youth aged 15 to 29 who face multiple and/or complex barriers to employment. This program goes beyond traditional job search and placement opportunities by offering more intensive support. Key features include:

  • Paid Pre-Employment Training: 60 hours of training focused on job readiness and essential skills.
  • Job Matching and Paid Placements: Participants receive assistance in finding suitable job placements with financial support for both participants and hiring incentives for employers.
  • Networking and Mentorship: Participants have access to mentorship from community members, employers, and past program participants.

  • Education and Work Transition Support: Guidance to aid participants in achieving their career goals and aspirations.

Youth Job Connection Summer (YJCS): The Youth Job Connection Summer program is tailored for youth aged 15 to 18 who also experience barriers to employment, with a focus on summer and after-school jobs. Key supports include:

  • Paid Pre-Employment Workshops: 20 hours of workshops designed to improve job readiness and life skills.
  • Job Matching and Paid Placements: Youth can participate in paid job placements lasting up to six months, with one-on-one job coaching support throughout the placement.
  • Networking and Mentorship: Participants have access to mentorship from community members, employers, and past program participants.
  • Education and Work Transition Support: Guidance to aid participants in achieving their career goals and aspirations.

Who is Eligible?

Youth Job Connection (YJC):

• Be between 15 to 29 years old at time of registration
• Be legally excused from attending high school if you are 15 to 18 years old
• Be eligible to work in Canada
• Be a resident of Ontario
• Not be currently in full-time training or education
• Be unemployed

Youth Job Connection Summer (YJCS):

• Must be between 15 and 18 years of age
• Must be returning to school in the Summer
• Must be eligible to work in Canada & a resident of Ontario
