SWIS Regional Coordination (Ontario)

TNO – The Neighbourhood Organization leads the coordination of Settlement Workers in Schools (SWIS) initiatives across Ontario, strengthening regional collaboration and supporting more consistent, responsive service delivery.

The SWIS initiative is a school-based settlement program that supports newcomer students and their families as they navigate the education system and integrate into their communities. Through this work, SWIS promotes inclusion, fosters a sense of belonging, and advances intercultural understanding within schools.

SWIS Regional Coordination in Ontario brings together service provider organizations across the province to enhance alignment, share knowledge, and support consistent implementation of SWIS programming. By connecting partners and building sector capacity, the initiative contributes to a more coordinated and effective system of support for newcomer families.
