“For All Women and Girls” With Craft Social

Contributor: Priyanka Purushothaman, Community Resource Worker

Every civilization flourished from the riverbank. River is A FOUNDATION for HUMAN CIVILIZATION. It emerges as a droplet, transforms into a nurturing river, and flows into the sea, guided by the pull of gravity. A woman, too, evolves through life’s currents—she giggles in the bubble of girlhood, empowers herself through adolescence, and transforms into a strong entrepreneur, mother, and leader who naturally inspires a vast community. Just like a river, she nurtures and sustains humankind. In a world that often emphasizes competition and individual achievement, women stand as a reminder of the strength found in unity—growing together as a family, a community, and a nation. Women’s empowerment groups have emerged as sanctuaries of support, spaces where they come together to uplift each other and share their journeys of life. Our proud CRAFT SOCIAL group from St. James Town Community Corner’s participants is one such force. They have been constantly working on a variety of eco-friendly projects that inspire community members to pursue their passions and become successful entrepreneurs.

This diverse and inclusive team has developed agendas for their programs and has proudly established themselves as a social enterprise—successfully creating and selling handmade Christmas cards. Women are not celebrated only on March 8th, International Women’s Day. As long as our communities are flourished with focused women groups like CRAFT SOCIAL every day they have to be appreciated and valued for their efforts.

HAPPY WOMEN’S DAY!!
