We recognize that violence and abuse can take many forms and can have a lasting impact.   While abuse often happens in romantic relationships, it can also take place between parents and children, friends, roommates, extended family members, in-laws and caregivers (and in many other relationships).

Our team is here to provide support services to the women of Thorncliffe and Flemingdon Park communities.

Since January we have supported 150 children living with violence in the home.

Our program is designed to support those who identify as women when abuse is taking place in their home or at various workplaces.  It is our belief that no one deserves to live with violence and abuse, and that every person has the right to be treated with dignity and respect.

Since January we have supported 258 Women experiencing violence.

Follow us over the next 16 days to learn about the issue of Gender Based Violence and our work in the Thorncliffe & Flemingdon communities.

“Recognizing that violence against women is a manifestation of historically unequal power relations between men and women, which have led to domination over and discrimination against women by men and to the prevention of the full advancement of women, and that violence against women is one of the crucial social mechanisms by which women are forced into a subordinate position compared with men.”
